The Marlinton Elementary School fifth grade basketball team won first place in the Sixth Annual Fifth Grade Basketball Tournament in Monterey, Virginia, March 4. Fifth grade teams from Bath County, Highland County, Green Bank, Hillsboro and Marlinton elementary schools competed in the tournament.
